A mutual, owned by its members
Founded in 1870 as German Farmers Mutual Insurance Association — our earliest minutes were kept entirely in German — GFMutual has spent more than a century and a half doing one thing: standing behind our neighbors when it matters most.
As a mutual association there are no outside shareholders. The association is owned by its policyholders, run from our office on Spring Avenue in Waukon, and backed by Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.
